Exhibition Statement:
I Want to Feel at Home Here features the work of twenty artists from the U.S. and Canada exploring themes of home, place and belonging through the medium of paint. From modern, post-industrial landscapes to depictions of intimate physical and psychological refuges, the works evoke dissonant feelings of calm and dis-ease, playfulness and nostalgia, as they reflect on the spaces we create, inhabit and covet as painters in the 21st century.
